Never in my life have I ever met such a wonderful woman who makes my world so beautiful. I love her so much. It was a wonderful privilege to get to meet her, it was a heart stopping moment when I proposed to her, it was an everlasting honor to be sealed to her for eternity and is an unchanging but every growing love that I now share with her. I have been learning more and more that it is a woman's love that penetrates the highest and thickest walls of cold and selfish stubbornness that a man can possibly build up. I know that Brittney is FILLED with that kind of love for me. Even though sometimes I may be undeserving. When I think of the happiest moments of my mortal life thus far there isn't one that doesn't include Brittney. I love her so much and think of her often. The opportunity to be sealed for eternity, given to us by our Heavenly Father, I testify, is the sweetest and most joyful gift to a husband and wife as well as their families in the great and vast eternities. I am infinitely grateful for our eternity, Brittney and I. I love her with all that I am.
Sincerely,
Alan Blake

This year the idea of going back to school has a different ring to it. Normally back to school for me would be gathering my textbooks, gathering binders, folders, and all other supplies. It would be packing it all in the backpack. It would be finding the classroom. It would be meeting new friends. But like I said this year has a different ring. I am now setting up my own classroom. I am now writing lesson plans. I am now making sure that my students IEP match their schedules. I am now organizing a classroom. I am now decorating a classroom. Pretty much I am now overwhelmed completely by being a first year teacher. I knew that this would happen, but WOW THIS IS A LOT OF WORK!!! I know that I just has to take it a day at a time. With every passing day things will be easier, more organized, and just better. But for now I am taking my Momma down to Austin with me tomorrow to help me organize my classroom... She will help out millions.

Finally...
We have one in Rochester, MN
If you have not been... go. You will receive the best dang hamburger and fries you have ever tasted in your life.
Alan and I went last night and we had to wait 45 minutes for the food.
And let me tell you that hamburger and fries tasted even better after the long wait.

straight as an arrow
The above title describes my hair to a T. I have always had straight, straight, straight hair. I have always wanted curly hair... so I decided to make my hair curly. With the help of my mother-in-law... my hair turned curly... and I LOVE IT!!!! Cheers to perming hair!
The talent of playing the piano...
I USED to have this talent...
I USED to take piano lessons from my great-aunt Carol...
I USED to be very good at playing...
I USED to be in competitions...
I USED to be state level competitions....
I USED to love playing this instrument...
I USED to be able to play tons of different tunes on the beautiful ivory keys...
NOW...
I try very hard just to make a song sound like a song.
I promised Alan that I would re-teach myself this talent once we had a piano in our home. Well guess what folks... we got that piano and now I am eating my words....
I am hoping that one day everything will come flooding back in to my mind and I will remember how to play the beautiful music that I once played. But I am sure that will not happen... well at least it has not happened yet.
But for now just please send some hopes and prayers my way.

This is the view that I get to enjoy for many years to come!
The day has finally come that my parents bought a CABIN!!!
Al and I were able to go with my parents last night and see it first hand.
I was very thrilled to hear the news. My most fondest childhood memories are the memories that I have at my grandparents cabin. It was the best.
I can not wait to take long boat rides, paddle boat rides, fish off the dock, get sunburned/tanned, bonfires, late game nights, fire works....and many other fun things.
Cabin memories here we come!!!
LOVE at first sight . . .
well, maybe not "love" but at least a liking. i know folks it's the celebration you've all been waiting for. today..the first saturday of August, marks the first day Brittney Elizabeth Blake (then walbruch) and I Alan Spencer Blake (then model for Men's Health) . . . drum roll please bdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbdbd MMMMMET! oohh yeaaaah. i walked up to that front door feelin pretty good about the whole thing actually. i mean how else can you feel on a first date. it's not like i was in shining armor, white stretchy pants, and riding a knoble steed. No, no, sillies i left all that at home; but little did i know, that was the opportunity of an eternity to have the pleasure of meeting miss brittney. and i am forever greatful that i snatched it up.
Day's prior to this first date we had met and coordinated a time and place (on ldssingles.com), got directions to her house and got to know each other over the phone (which lasted about 6.74 seconds) and headed to the monster truck rally at the olmsted county fair. I don't know if it was the rednecks poundin beer all around us or the sweet smell of greasy funnel cakes but we hit it off. and quite frankly the rest is history. she is the woman of my dreams and i am forever greatful for our eternal marriage and the wonderful joy and fulfillment brittney has been in my life. thank you to the olmsted fair for the accommodations that made a good first date and thanks to Lord for bringing us together then and blessing us with each other now.
