My Lovely Wife Brittney

Never in my life have I ever met such a wonderful woman who makes my world so beautiful.  I love her so much.  It was a wonderful privilege to get to meet her, it was a heart stopping moment when I proposed to her, it was an everlasting honor to be sealed to her for eternity and is an unchanging but every growing love that I now share with her.  I have been learning more and more that it is a woman's love that penetrates the highest and thickest walls of cold and selfish stubbornness that a man can possibly build up.  I know that Brittney is FILLED with that kind of love for me.  Even though sometimes I may be undeserving.  When I think of the happiest moments of my mortal life thus far there isn't one that doesn't include Brittney.  I love her so much and think of her often.  The opportunity to be sealed for eternity, given to us by our Heavenly Father, I testify, is the sweetest and most joyful gift to a husband and wife as well as their families in the great and vast eternities.  I am infinitely grateful for our eternity, Brittney and I.  I love her with all that I am.

Sincerely,

Alan Blake

This year the idea of going back to school has a different ring to it.  Normally back to school for me would be gathering my textbooks, gathering binders, folders, and all other supplies.  It would be packing it all in the backpack.  It would be finding the classroom.  It would be meeting new friends.  But like I said this year has a different ring.  I am now setting up my own classroom.  I am now writing lesson plans.  I am now making sure that my students IEP match their schedules.  I am now organizing a classroom.  I am now decorating a classroom.  Pretty much I am now overwhelmed completely by being a first year teacher.  I knew that this would happen, but WOW THIS IS A LOT OF WORK!!!  I know that I just has to take it a day at a time.  With every passing day things will be easier, more organized, and just better.  But for now I am taking my Momma down to Austin with me tomorrow to help me organize my classroom... She will help out millions.

Finally...

We have one in Rochester, MN
If you have not been... go.  You will receive the best dang hamburger and fries you have ever tasted in your life.
Alan and I went last night and we had to wait 45 minutes for the food.
And let me tell you that hamburger and fries tasted even better after the long wait.

straight as an arrow

The above title describes my hair to a T.  I have always had straight, straight, straight hair.  I have always wanted curly hair... so I decided to make my hair curly.  With the help of my mother-in-law... my hair turned curly... and I LOVE IT!!!!  Cheers to perming hair!

The talent of playing the piano...

I USED to have this talent...
I USED to take piano lessons from my great-aunt Carol...
I USED to be very good at playing...
I USED to be in competitions...
I USED to be state level competitions....
I USED to love playing this instrument...
I USED to be able to play tons of different tunes on the beautiful ivory keys...

NOW...
I try very hard just to make a song sound like a song.
I promised Alan that I would re-teach myself this talent once we had a piano in our home.  Well guess what folks... we got that piano and now I am eating my words....
I am hoping that one day everything will come flooding back in to my mind and I will remember how to play the beautiful music that I once played.  But I am sure that will not happen... well at least it has not happened yet.
But for now just please send some hopes and prayers my way.
