preparedness

I have been stepping out and trying canning ALOT this season.  I started with tomatoes, then salsa, and now applesauce.  This season I have found success with doing this and it has really helped build my confidence in doing these types of things.  I am grateful for the good people, my mom and also mother in law, who helped me through these different tasks.  I know that I will use this skill for my whole life.. and it is a great way to preserve all the goodies that are being grown in the summer and fall around here.  Grateful for the words of wisdom from our church leaders to be prepared and build food storage...

Here I am using the kitchen aid to slice homemade hash-browns and freeze them.

Here are the 16 quarts of beautiful pink applesauce!

Alan at school

Alan has been at school all week.  It has been a long week with me and the kids all day.  I am lucky enough to have my parents come over every night and help with the kids and dinner.  Alan is down in Kansas City doing schooling on refrigeration.  He seems to really be enjoying the school.  Even though it has been a long week with out Al around I have really felt the spirit in my life this week.  I know with out a doubt that I have not been "alone" this week.  I have felt the Savior's love for me and he has helped me to find energy, patience, and love when I have needed it.  I am grateful to know that I never have to be "alone" in anything.

Thank you mom, dad, Josh Allen, and Friends for helping out during this week.  I am looking forward to having Alan home tomorrow.

And then there are tender moments like these... that makes me beyond grateful to be their mom!!!
I LOVE YOU HALLE AND ABEL... more than life itself.  Please always, always remember to turn to the Lord when you need him.  He is always there.  You are never, ever "alone" in this life.
I love you and thank you for letting me be your mom.... I am eternally grateful for this blessing in my life!
