Nate and Ashley came to visit..

Life has been a little busy and I have been unable to talk about the visit from Nate, Ashley, and the girls.
We had an amazing time.  The majority of the time was spent up at the cabin and the last four days were spent back at grammie's house.  We had a blast up at the cabin some of the activities included:
a day trip to hayward
boating
surviving a horrible straight line wind storm
laying out
catching fish with Uncle Al
Tubing
swimming in the lake
taking showers in the lake
going for rides on the paddle boat
eating good food
eating s'mores... and not feeling judged
listening to the generator
watching the fireworks
holding baby Halle
going to the park in spooner
eating at poor boys
and lots more!
Here are some pictures from the week!

It was a great 10 days together... Thank you Nate and Ashley for bringing the girls and spending time with us.... We had a blast!  Love you!

2 months old

We can hardly believe that she is already 2months old.
We had the privilege of taking her to the doctors office for a visit and shots.
Here are her stats:
Height: 22 1/4 inches putting her in the 49th percentile
Weight: 9 lbs. 12 oz putting her in the 27th percentile
and Head Circumference: 15 1/2 inches putting her in the 67th percentile.

Here are some things that Halle is currently doing:
Sleeping 5-6 hours a night
cooing up a storm
turning on her side... and almost rolling over
filling her diapers with "love" ALOT
smiling
napping good
loving her swing
loving belly time
taking a bottle
having a lot more wake time
These two months have flown by. We can not wait to see what the next month will have in store for us... I am hoping a good 7-9 hour stretch of sleeping at night!!!!

Halle's Blessing Day

July 10th, 2011.
Our first daughter, Halle Elizabeth Blake, was given a name and a blessing at church.
The blessing was given by her father, Alan Spencer Blake, and it was perfect.
Your family surrounded you in the circle Halle... and you could feel the spirit strongly during your blessing.
Your Dad blessed you with many things.  You are a daughter of God Halle and we are so grateful that you came to our family and we will try our best to be the best parents for you here on this earth.

Here are the only pictures that we got that day because you decided to explode once we got home from church.

straight line wind storm......

WE SURVIVED IT!!!!
July 1st we started our vacation by going up to the cabin.  This long week was going to be filled with lots of fun!  Nate and Ashley were here and we have all been looking forward to this week for a long time.  Al and I arrived at the cabin in the morning on the 1st.  It was so hot outside.  I was laying out on the beach and told Al.. I think that we will have one nice storm tonight...  well I ate my words.
After dinner... my parents, Hannah, Ellie, Al, I, Halle, and my Grandpa were hanging out in the sun room when it started to rain ALOT!!!!  It looked totally cool on the lake and then the storm took a turn for the worst.  All the sudden trees started falling all over the place, docks were flying across the lake, beach house was flattened, and all of our boats disappeared....
I was scared out of my mind.
I had Halle.  We had Hannah and Ellie.
We were all huddled in the kitchen.
I was pretty much having an anxiety attack.
Finally the storm let up a little bit, so Alan and my Dad were able to assess the situation.
We found all the boats.
We found all but one of the dock boards.
We had no power.
We had a lot of trees down.
We had no damage to the cabin... which was literally a miracle!
Here are some pictures of the devastation.

As a said above... it was a miracle that we were kept safe.
After this storm hit we were left without power for five long days.  Through this experience I have received a testimony about the importance to be prepared.  The Prophets have talked for years about being prepared.  I have always thought that we would be able to rely on others to help out in different situations.  Well this situation showed me that you can only rely on yourself and the items that you have.  I know that the Prophets have told over and over again to be prepared for a reason.  Alan and I have decided to become more prepared and have started collecting our food storage.  I am grateful that Heavenly Father had his protecting hand over us and our lake neighbors during this horrible storm.
